Spread across 33 acres, Blithewold features a stately mansion, expansive gardens, and an arboretum. This romantic property offers memorable outdoor event spaces that showcase the care that goes into preserving the estate and its gardens. Couples can hold their ceremony in the North Garden which is located next to the mansion. The home and bay provide elegant views for each couple’s nuptials. After the knot is tied, newlyweds and guests can enjoy cocktail hour within the mansion and its covered porches and terraces. The happy couple and their wedding party can also take photos throughout the grounds and its many manicured gardens. A large white event tent serves as a covered outdoor space for the reception. It can accommodate dining and dancing while ensuring guests can enjoy the venue’s views throughout their experience. This spacious tent is suitable for weddings of up to 225 attendees. The estate’s seven unique and beautiful gardens are available for guests to explore and admire during special events.

Throughout the planning process, venue staff will work with you to help create the event of your dreams. They also offer the services of a wedding manager to oversee the execution of the event. On your big day, you and your wedding party will have access to a private suite to prepare for the festivities.

History

This mansion was built in the late 1800s, however, when destroyed by fire, a new building was constructed after the start of the 20th century. The current mansion is a quintessential example of architecture from the Country Place Era. Its design features a turn-of-the-century style that incorporates elements from both the late 19th and earth 20th centuries.
