The Wimbish House is a historic mansion and wedding venue located in Atlanta, Georgia. This beautiful venue offers affordable elegance in the heart of Midtown, with high ceilings, grand pianos and several crystal chandeliers. The experienced, responsive, and courteous events team at The Wimbish House will ensure your wedding is memorable and completely stress-free.
Facilities and Capacity
This lovely, fully restored Victorian-era home features high ceilings, period furnishings, hardwood floors, steep gables, intricate detailing and massive stone masonry ornamentation. A graceful, curved staircase allows for memorable entrances into a grand parlor. Formal reception rooms are accented by tall archways and columns, and flow into the elegant dining room, sunroom and restored 1920's ballroom. Many rooms feature grand pianos, antique crystal chandeliers and fireplaces. A covered veranda provides an outdoor space for ceremonies, cocktail hours or photos.
Services Offered
The Wimbish House offers venue rental for weddings and other social events. This venue allows you to bring in your own outside caterer, vendors and alcohol to create an event that matches your vision. Four parking spaces are reserved for the couple, and they can accommodate up to six vendor vehicles. Event services offered include the following:

- Use of (2) tuned Baby Grand Pianos

Other Services
The Wimbish House is an ideal location for hosting private parties of varying sizes. In addition to wedding ceremonies and receptions, this location can accommodate all of your wedding events, such as engagement parties, bridal showers and rehearsal dinners. This venue is also available for hosting corporate meetings, filming, holiday parties, birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Wedding/Event Coordination Services are available for an additional fee, and their thoughtful and caring staff and can work with you to customize the design and flow of your event according to your unique vision and expectation of budget.
History
This Wimbish House was commissioned by prominent Atlanta attorney William A. Wimbish and designed by notable Atlanta architect W.T. Downing. Downing later designed many of Atlanta’s most prestigious public buildings, including The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Trinity United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church and Lupton Hall at Oglethorpe University. Designed in the eclectic French Renaissance Revival, or Chateauesque style, this Victorian-era home has been lovingly restored and designated as a city, state and national landmark.

The Wimbish House is conveniently located in the heart of Midtown at the intersection of 14th and Peachtree streets. This venue is within walking distance of fine hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, Piedmont Park, Woodruff Arts Center and the High Museum.

We decided to have our wedding at The Wimbish House because it's in a very walkable area of Atlanta, the house itself is gorgeous, and Karin and Karina made us feel like we would be in good hands when we took a tour. While I did most of the planning, Karin dialed in the details and offered cherished advice on what would work best given our own preferences. We had a guest count of 117 people. We held the ceremony in the ballroom, then went into the Lucy Willard room upstairs for a private moment with champagne and appetizers. Meanwhile, the ballroom was flipped for dinner service and guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the main floor. After dinner, guests moved back up to the main floor for dessert and coffee in the conference room, and 3 tables were removed to open up the dance floor. All of these moving pieces/flips worked seamlessly thanks to Karin's direction, and multiple times guests told me how much they loved the opportunity to walk through the rooms on the main floor. It was truly a perfect venue for the vision of our wedding day, and we can't thank the Wimbish House staff (and our other vendors) enough for the perfect evening. One thing I will recommend, even though it looks so beautiful and photographs well, is not having candles in the aisle for the ceremony. We had a few clumsy guests knock them over, but thankfully Karin and crew came to the rescue swiftly and gracefully. We had no idea it had even happened until later on, and that's the kind of crew you want on your wedding day: one that makes mistakes unnoticeable. Thank you so much again for a wonderful wedding day! -

I’m so overjoyed that I chose The Winbish House as my wedding venue!!! It’s absolutely beautiful inside and Karin and Karine are so welcoming and professional. I’m a Navy Veteran, they’re very military friendly. Very affordable and they explain every detail. Can’t for my big day!!!!

The Wimbish House is one of my favorite venues in Atlanta. It has two great pianos, is in the heart of midtown, and has an upscale feel without being too huge or intimidating.
