The Portofino Hotel & Marina is proud to offer two spacious oceanfront ballrooms with unobstructed water views, sunset vistas and a picturesque outdoor ceremony venue located a few steps from the water. Seating up to 140 and 240 respectively, our Pacific Ballroom and Bayside Ballroom offer that storybook perfect Southern California luxury experience to say I Do and create sun-kissed memories to last a lifetime.
Our wedding packages are all fully customizable based on your needs and include white or ivory linens, Chiavari chairs, hardwood dance floor and candlelight to set the ambiance. Let our team assist you with recommendations for a wedding planner, photography, music and floral to complete the celebration. Our team of event professionals is here to attend to every detail of your dream day.
No wedding weekend is complete without a rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch, partnering with our famed BALEENkitchen or with one of our marina boats to complete the seaside experience. Additionally, we offer private changing rooms for each of your wedding parties to start the days’ festivities over champagne and brunch or perhaps bourbon and burgers.
We are happy to assist with room blocks for you and your out of town guests for the full destination wedding experience. Each room has been newly remodeled with luxuriously appointed amenities and each with private balconies onto the harbor or marina. Our Dockside Adventure Center also offers bicycle, paddle board and kayak rentals along with seasonal whale watching, fishing excursions and many more opportunities to share what you love most about SoCal with your visiting guests.

Can’t tell you how wonderful it was to work with the Chris and Rain in the catering/wedding department. They made our wedding so memorable and seamless! They were all so exceptional to work with -- always going above and beyond to accommodate all of our questions and requests. So many guests came up to me during the wedding to tell me how fantastic the staff was from beginning to end –especially my friend who brought flowers from the church to put in the bathrooms and various tables. I know they were getting ready for us to arrive, but they stopped to help her get the hangers off the pots from the pews at church without hesitation! While we were taking pictures, several of the staff came out passing hors’d oeuvres and drinks for us to make sure we ate! So wonderful! During the evening everyone kept coming to me to tell how amazing the staff was. We are so grateful we are for their kindness and professionalism in making this “one of the most fun weddings they have been too”---and that is a direct quote! Included in the cost of dinner was an open bar, our wedding cake, our wedding night at the Portofino with ocean view and bottle of wine. We felt that the value of the evening, much less the gorgeous view from the Terrace and Pacific Ballroom were extraordinary. It was a magical day.
We’ll be back next June 29!

We loved getting married at the Portofino. They made the planning process so easy, Chris and Rain were friendly to work with and responsive.
Our guests stayed at the hotel and it was so easy and beautiful. The lobby was a great gathering space. We loved the getting ready spaces and photo locations available at the hotel.
Our cocktail hour was on the lawn and it was so fun! We got a lot of comments on how great the food was and the highest praise was for how speedy the bartenders were!
We'd choose the Portofino again and again!-

Sheena has been with the Portofino since 2017 specializing in our Social Event market. She has been in the hospitality industry in the South Bay for over 6 years and prior to that did work as an Event Planner and Coordinator.
She is extremely versed in all social events but especially loves the wedding market. She is always ready to support our couples with any questions or concerns they have, from Design to Budget she will definnitely work with you to find the perfect fit!

The Portofino is a fantastic venue by the sea. I've been decorating and designing florals at The Portofino for over 20 years! You will find the staff wonderful to work with. The Director of Catering, Shelley Berry will work tirelessly to orchestrate the wedding of you dreams. The unique ballrooms offer breathtaking views of the ocean and the South Bay.
