Couples who book The American Hotel, Freehold have the option of hosting their ceremony and/or reception in any of the venue’s three unique ballrooms: The Lennox Ballroom, The Majestic Ballroom, and The Royale Ballroom. Featuring crystal chandeliers with wrought iron accents and an original gas converted fireplace with custom mantel, the exquisite Lennox Ballroom accommodates up to 100 guests. The elegant Majestic Ballroom, with its exquisite tray ceilings and beautifully crafted French doors, accommodates between 200 to 250. The multi-functional Royale Ballroom, outfitted with wrought iron windows and decorative wall panels, accommodates up to 100.

Every bride (& groom) knows how difficult planning a wedding has been during this pandemic. From postponing to cutting the guest list down to making sure Covid-19 safety guidelines are followed, you name it! It's been stressful! However, when you have vendors who work with you & understand you, it eases the wedding planning! The entire team at the American Hotel (especially Jim!) did just that! From day one, they answered every email/phone call and were so understanding when we postponed our 2020 wedding date. Jim was able to move our wedding date from October 3rd, 2020 to May 15th, 2021 without a problem or any additional fees! He worked with us every step of the way to make sure our wedding was perfect! I was so worried and nervous but he assured me everything would be just fine! We were allowed to invite 95 guests, use the dance floor, and have a family style cocktail hour in the main reception room. My guests danced all night, enjoyed the food/drinks, and followed Covid-19 safety guidelines when necessary. I'm happy to share that no one tested positive after our wedding! Thank you American Hotel & Jim for working so diligently during these stressful times to make my dream wedding happen! -

Our perfect wedding.
It was a pleasure working with jim. We loved his personality and we really clicked with him. Our original date was 9/12/2020. But due to covid we had to pick the new date of 5/8/2021. When it was about 4 months prior to our original date Jim was very easy to work with his said If you want to postpone the wedding it was all good and when we were ready to pick our new date and don’t rush. He said Whenever we were ready , we were ready. So we picked Mother’s Day weekend so it be something special for our moms to watch us get married (even though we really legally still got married 9/12/2020) fast forward to our special day.
Jim made everything perfect. Even our guest were blown away. We actually didn’t do a night time wedding. We did a champagne brunch wedding which I highly recommend. It’s basically almost the same as the night time with some changes but half the price! My husband and I love brunches and when I first seen this venue I love the vintage feel of it and when I see the brunch buffet I knew that’s what we would want. We absolutely loved our wedding and Jim is the best and knows what he is doing.
From the front you wouldn’t think it’s a venue but when you come in the back entrance that’s where the magic begins. Our ceremony room was perfect the vibe in there is just amazing the. Next door was the ball room were the cocktail and brunch was which is a gorgeous room. This place is a gem and I’m glad I came across it about 3 years ago when my mom and I always went to breakfast at the metropolitan cafe and we always wondered what the American hotel was. And that first step in there and I fell in love and it was the first venue I seen and the only one because I knew this is where I wanted my wedding! Thank again again Jim for everything !❤️-

McGregor Wedding 12/7/19
Our wedding took place on December 7, 2019, at the American Hotel. Joy & Jim were extremely professional, accommodating, helpful and attentive throughout the entire planning process. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was a blast- and everything went off without a hitch! We booked an appointment to look at the American Hotel for our venue about two weeks after getting engaged. We met with Joy and she was so welcoming, informative, and not pushy at all. We immediately felt comfortable with her and knew this was where we would have our wedding. We came back with our parents shortly thereafter, had dinner at the Market Yard Grille and were blown away by how wonderful the food was. Joy and Jim arranged for us to do a menu tasting along with four guests. We were set up in a private room, provided a full bar, and family style dishes. Everything was phenomenal! Every question we had was answered promptly- every request was fulfilled- and the day of our wedding I knew I had absolutely nothing to worry about. We cannot thank Jim & Joy enough for making our special day PERFECT! We would highly recommend the American Hotel for a wedding!
In addition, the entire staff was amazing. Pat at the front desk was a doll, the waiters and waitresses were great, bartenders had everyone's drinks down and kept them coming- we could not have asked for a better day!-
