About

On WeddingWire since 2009

Situated within Fairmount Park, Memorial Hall c. 1876 is a museum wedding venue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This historic property dates back to America’s 1876 Centennial Exhibition, when it was constructed as an art gallery. Today, it is one of the flagship venues of Brûlée Catering and the home of the Please Touch Museum. The building is just 21 minutes from the Philadelphia Airport, making it conveniently accessible to locals and out-of-town guests alike. A National Historic Landmark, this sweeping architectural masterpiece makes for a dramatic backdrop to create timeless memories.

The whole building can accommodate up to 3,000 people for truly spectacular events, while individual rooms suit weddings of different styles and sizes. Hamilton Hall, which can hold up to 650 guests, features glamorous Arts Beaux architecture and 60-feet ceilings that culminate in an impressive dome. This room also hosts a towering replica of the Statue of Liberty, made from toys by renowned artist Leo Sewell. Boasting similarly resplendent architectural flourishes, the South Foyer accommodates 450 guests. Parties of 200 can gather in the Carousel House, a unique space with elegant furniture and a fully restored and operating hand-crafted 1908 Dentzel Carousel. The East Gallery is a two-floor, 1,000-person capacity hall with whimsical attractions including a rainforest atmosphere and Alice in Wonderland-inspired decor. The West Gallery also holds 1,000 people and offers interactive exhibits such as a SEPTA bus and a replica of an urban environment. Visitors can also peruse the Centennial Gallery, where a recreation of the 1876 Centennial Exhibition is on display.

    The Perfect Wedding

Our wedding on 11/19/22 was absolutely perfect. The entire process of planning was so smooth and easy, the whole team at The Please Touch Museum were beyond helpful and a delight to work with. I can not say enough wonderful things about the beautiful space, the absolutely incredible food, the flawless service and attention to detail. I am a wedding planner myself so I know first hand the amount of work that goes into weddings and Lynnelle was phenomenal. I am absolutely blown away by the entire experience. From our first meeting I knew that this was the place for us to get married. As someone in the business, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to relax at my own wedding or get out of planner mode, but having people like Lynnelle and her team (shout out to Rosie who also made sure our every need was taken care of before we even knew it) made it possible for me to fully experience being the client/guest and not spend a moment worried that some detail was going to be overlooked. The whole day felt like a dream. A perfect dream. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Stunning.

    Perfect Night

I couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect place to get married. We got married in July, and five months later our friends are still raving about our wedding. The venue was spectacular. The carousel at the cocktail hour made for a memorable night. And the food was amazing! Everything from cocktail hour to desserts was delicious. Lynnelle was so great to work with. From the first meeting through the wedding itself, she was helpful and attentive and really brought our vision to life. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but working with Lynnelle and the team at Brulee was stress-free.

    Highly recommended!

We had our wedding this spring at the Please Touch Museum and the whole thing felt like a dream! The building is already incredible on its own - it’s unique and fun, but also very elegant and the carousel was a lovely bonus. Our guests loved the venue and the food, and the Brulee Catering team was phenomenal. Lynnelle was amazing and so much fun to work with throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. From our first meeting with her, she was super responsive, organized, and made the planning process a breeze. She guided us through everything, and we were really impressed with her attention to detail and how she seemed to have answers ready for all of our questions. On our wedding day, the catering team did a fantastic job handling everything so that we didn’t have to worry about a thing, keeping things flowing and running smoothly. Everyone was so friendly and our bridal attendant was great. We loved our wedding and can’t recommend the Please Touch Museum/Brulee Catering enough!
